When renting residential accommodation in Gibraltar, the following are standard requirements.

1. Minimum one month's rent as holding deposit (could vary)
2. One month's rent in advance and thereafter monthly in advance
3. Utilities such as water and electricity are to be connected by the tenant at which time a deposit of £60.00 (water) and £100.00 (electricity) will be required.
4. On applying for the telephone, a deposit of £50.00 must be paid on application or can be added to your first bill.
5. If required, BFA Estate Agents can organize connections.
6. References will be requested.

The usual term on a rental contract would be for a minimum period of 6 months to a maximum period of 1 year with an option to renew if so required.
